Effective the first of the year, the National Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF) made three changes to its board of directions.

Longtime member John Puetz retired, while the founders of Genesis joined.

Puetz was elected to the board in 2007 and retired in October 2016, after reaching his term limit. During his tenure, he served as chairman from 2011 to 2013 and was a member of the Grant Review Committee.

“John has been a champion for collaboration and excellence. He will be missed,” said Bruce Dunn, Chairman of the NSPF Board of Directors.

Brian Van Bower and Skip Phillips, both Society of Watershape Designers (SWD) Masters, have been principals with Genesis since 1998. When they merged the company with NSPF in January of 2016, the two took on roles as Genesis ambassadors. Now they will be NSPF board members.

“We have a vision that the pool, hot tub, and aquatic field will play a greater role helping more families live happier and healthier lives,” said Bruce Dunn, NSPF chairman of the board. “The addition of Genesis to the NSPF family of programs is further enhanced by the addition of the two quality founders of the program onto the NSPF Board.”
