The Museum of Ice Cream will open its doors on April 22 in the art district of Los Angeles. And, as improbable as it may seem, it has a tie-in to pools. Interactive highlights include a melted popsicle jungle, a mint “grow house” — and the iconic swimmable sprinkle pool.
The pool is a carry-over feature from the Museum’s launch in New York City last year. It’s filled with about 100 million sprinkles that were constructed out of antimicrobial plastics and custom designed and produced by the museum.
Last year tickets to the Museum sold out in five days and attracted a wait list of more than 200,000 people. The Los Angeles location is four times larger than the NYC incarnation and will only be open until May 29. Of course, two ice creams are included with admission.
