Changing of the Guard at APSP

1 MIN READ

The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals, which produces many aquatics standards, has made staff changes that reflect what its leader calls ?a changing of the guard.?

While some of the turnover has been due to natural attrition, President/CEO Bill Weber said much of the new hiring has aimed at increasing effective membership services and communications, including those for aquatics professionals.

?This is designed to enhance the percentage of industry members who belong to the association, and I think we?re beginning to [see that],? he said.

Lauren Stack, who headed the Membership Task Force for the past year, now is director of marketing and promotion. Michael Reed, director of business development, also will oversee member services with Director of Standards Bernice Crenshaw.

APSP?s Commercial Council is working on the next edition of the Public Pool Standard and implementing plans for outreach, education and membership promotion of the commercial sector.

APSP also has hired an outside adviser to represent it to the International Code Council and, in particular, inform ICC about APSP?s new entrapment standard. The group plans to hire a coordinator for all government-relations activities as well.
