Aquatica, SeaWorld’s waterpark opened in 2008 as the first major new theme park addition to the Orlando, Fla., area in nearly a decade. The whimsical South Seas-themed destination mixes the typical waterpark experience with marine life encounters. The facility features more than 35 water slides, several river channels and lagoons, two wave pools and an 80,000-square-foot sandy beach. The newest ride is Omaka Rocka, a high-speed water slide. Another signature ride is Dolphin Plunge, a clear tube slide that shoots riders through a pool of black-and-white Commerson’s dolphins. For children, there’s Walkabout Waters, a 15,000-square-foot aquatic playground highlighted by a 60-foot-tall interactive play structure.
