Northern Ireland’s Largest Leisure Pool Gets Facelift

1 MIN READ

After undergoing several months’ worth of renovations, the Lagan Valley LeisurePlex in Lisburn City, Ireland, has revealed a new look. The largest leisure facility in Northern Ireland now boasts a new splash pool with a colorful and innovative design thanks to Empex Watertoys’ Aquadek, as well as a kids’ water slide. The freeform pool’s interactive area is targeted to children up to age 12.

“Both fun and educational, kids will play and learn about water in this new addition,” a representative of the facility said in a press release. “The new design will definitely add a new vibrant visual to this outstanding facility.”

The facility was closed for six months during the remodel, which included the removal of an old pirate ship play structure to make way for the new splash area, according to a report in the Ulster Star. The news organization reports that the makeover, which cost approximately £3.2 million (or roughly $5 million U.S.) to complete, also included dedicated fitness rooms, a fitness suite and spa area in addition to a more customer friendly reception, changing and restaurant areas.
