Kicking off the 2017 AI Summer Lifeguard Challenge

Third-annual lifeguard competition begins with a drill you'll hopefully never have to execute in real life: Rescuing a baby

1 MIN READ

This year’s AI Summer Lifeguard Challenge begins with a doozy of a drill. In the video below, resident lifeguard expert Pete Dequincy explains the ins and outs of performing ventilations on a baby, as well as criteria on which participants will be judged.

We’re also changing things up. Just as you don’t want your training program to go stale, neither do we want our annual competition to feel same-old, same-old. So, we’re adding a bonus round. There will be four challenges this year — that’s right, four — one each month from May through August.

If you plan to participate, email pdequincy@ebparks.org for further instructions on how to submit the video. Deadline to submit is May 31.

May the best lifeguard team win!
