For this drill, you’ll need eight rescuers and eight life jackets.
Toss those jackets in the deepend and instruct your staff to jump in and put them on. There’s no touching the edge of the pool as they try to buckle their jackets. They’ll have to complete this task treading water. Your guards, however, can help each other get the gear on. Once each team member has the life jacket on securely, they need to circle up, holding hands or locking arms.
The time to beat is 40 seconds.
In the video above, AI‘s resident lifeguard expert, Pete DeQuincy, explains how he’ll be judging this challenge.
