In this second installment of a three-part video series examining kicking styles for towing a passive victim, we’re taking a look at the inverted breast stroke.

This is an effective kick that creates fast propulsion, freeing up the lifeguard’s arms to keep a secure hold on the victim.

As AI‘s resident lifeguard expert, Pete DeQuincy, explains in the video above, there are three main things a trainer should watch for…

· The proficiency of the kick
· The position of the victim on the rescue tube
· And the lifeguard’s hold

This is not a drill. Rather, this is a simple exercise you can incorporate into your training to equip your guards with more swimming techniques.
